TITLE: Enrichment Coach

POSTION TYPE: CCAR

HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:

Required:

1. Must be 16 years of age
2. Able to carry out duties cooperatively with others
3. Able to handle multiple responsibilities at once.
4. Competency working with culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills
5. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Desired:

1. Successful work or volunteer experience with children.
2. Supervisory experience with school age children.
3. Ability to use computer technology, including Microsoft Office tools and other district purchased software.
4. Bilingual

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assist the Enrichment Leader and/or Before & After School Specialist with providing a safe, secure and structured after school environment, while demonstrating positive behavior management techniques. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the Metro Kids department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in administering quality Metro Kids programming while adhering to, and having a firm understanding of, District and program procedures, and Department of Human Services licensing regulations.
2. Assist in communicating program expectations and procedures clearly, effectively, and in a positive manner to staff, students, and parents/guardians.
3. Assist in implementing positive student behavior management techniques
4. Assist with implementing a safe, high quality, hands-on, engaging, and age-appropriate academic, enrichment and recreational curriculum/programs and clubs; actively participate and engage in activities with students; not just supervise or observe.
5. Present a positive image of the program while providing exemplary customer care and following program procedures to safely dismiss students from the program.
6. Assist in establishing a positive, supportive, and working relationship and communication with Enrichment Leader(s) and/or Before & After School Specialist(s), site staff, students and parents/guardians.
7. Have, or be able to obtain all Department of Human Services required trainings; including CPR, First Aid, Mandatory Reporter and Universal Precautions and keep trainings up-to-date as required.
8. Assist in maintaining high-level of fairness, confidentiality, respect and equity with students, families and staff.
9. Assist in supervising students in all Metro Kids program areas.

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):

1. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
4. Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

REPORTS TO: Enrichment Leader/Before and After School Supervisor 

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Enrichment Leader, Before and After School Supervisor, Director of Community in Schools

FLSA STATUS:  Non Exempt

FT/PT: Part Time 

DAYS:  260 calendar      HOURS: 4 hour work day

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Constant inside, standing and walking.  Frequent outside with extrmes of temperature/humidity, sitting, bending and stooping. Occasional climbing/stairs, lifting (10lbs), carrying (20 ft) drvingris FFrequesnt , walking ntsry
